PREGNANCY AND POSTNATAL MASSAGE

pregnancy and postnatal massage

Pregnancy brings with it many physical changes.  Fatigue, tender breasts, muscle strain, and swollen legs and ankles are some of the changes that are difficult to deal with.  Massage therapy can help you have a more comfortable pregnancy by reducing muscle and ligament pain.  Posture and body use tips can be demonstrated to help prevent strain and pain, as well as self care strategies such as stretching and strengthening exercises and self massage to help manage your comfort level.

My pregnancy massage training and my own pregnancies have taught me about many of the issues that women face and when they are most likely to experience them. Massage is used to treat more than just the pain associated with pregnancy.  It has been shown to reduce stress hormones in pregnant women and to improve neonatal health and development.
